A letter to the new members of the Utah State Bar

Never forget, lawyers working for the state choose to murder your fellow humans. If you work for the state, you are in direct collusion with murderers. When we judge another, we only see ourselves. Perspectives are created by non-transferable experience. When you prosecute, you project belief in criminality onto strangers and hurt the innocent with fantasy.

You will work with corrupt ignorant people. Cruelty in the justice system knows no bounds - judge to prosecutor, prison guard to police - a high percentage are wounded and want to hurt others. Prosecutors seek to murder criminals in front of their parents. Judges allow it.

Instead you can choose to never impose your will on another - to be kind, compassionate, empathetic - these produce healing while punishment perpetuates, transfers and expands trauma. Do not follow your peers. Be bold.

I am candidate for Lieutenant Governor. I was arrested, tortured, incarcerated and extorted by the state of Utah while innocent. I am dedicated to fighting corruption in the Utah criminal justice system until the day I die. Prosecutors must be prevented from harming our communities just to pay their salary. Let's fight back together to stop these institutional injustice. We are better.
